Job Description
HGV-Class 1 Shunter
As a Class 1 Shunter, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and vehicles around the depot. This is primarily yard-based shunting, positioning trailers correctly on the loading bays and moving vehicles around the site as required.
You will be working closely with the depot team to ensure trailers are in the correct locations and the operation runs smoothly throughout the shift.
The role will include:
Shunting trailers around the depot and yard
Positioning trailers onto loading bays
Moving vehicles safely between different areas of the site
Carrying out vehicle and trailer movements as required by the depot
Following all site health & safety procedures
Completing necessary vehicle checks
Working as part of a busy transport and warehouse operation
Some off-site driving may be required, so you must have a valid Class 1 licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
