We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain-sider loads and delivery operations.
Duties
Operate an HGV Class 1 lorry to deliver goods to specified destinations in a timely manner (mainly in Northern Ireland but sometimes in the Republic of Ireland)
Ensure all cargo is secured correctly and complies with safety regulations
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
Follow all road safety laws and company policies during transit
Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Assist with loading and unloading cargo when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record (DVA check will be required)
Valid Driver CPC card
Valid Digi-card
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtainsider loads and delivery routes
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to operate flatbed trailers safely and securely
Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service
Good organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently
Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including early mornings or late evenings if required
