We are seeking reliable and skilled 7.5 tonne drivers to join our clients team to support in the run up to Christmas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills, with experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. This role involves transporting goods efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Please note the client operates a 24 hour operation and all shifts are available - start times between 0400rs and 2300hrs - (dayshift/backshift/nightshift and weekends).

This is a temporary role but the pay rates are very competitive and holiday pay will also be accrued.

Duties

• Operate a 7.5 tonne flatbed lorry to deliver goods to various locations in a timely manner.

• Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure the lorry is roadworthy and safe for operation.

• Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.

• Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork.

• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the roads.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.

• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for 7.5 tonne vehicles (minimum Cat C1).

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred (minimum 18 months.

• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when handling deliveries.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.

Please note a DVA licence check is required for this role (maximum 6 penalty points).
