Traffic Planner
Sure Recruitment Livingston are excited to be recruiting for a Traffic Planner to work on a Temp to Perm contract for one of our well know customers in Livingston. Working in a busy logistics operation, you will be providing transport planning and administrative support to the Transport and Warehouse Operations, reporting directly to the Despatch Manager.
Key Duties
• Produce next day delivery schedules in line with customer requirements
• Multi drop/general haulage planning
• Organise 3rd party collections
• Liaise with end customer
• Liaise with other depots
• Secure delivery slots and times for all deliveries
• Produce and distribute picking and loading schedules to the warehouse team leader
• Manage POD confirmation
• Data inputting
• Produce drivers manifests
• Deal with drivers’ queries, ensure all are compliant with company procedure
• Control all filing of drivers daily/weekly documentation
• Carry out drivers debrief at end of shift
• Ensuring all vehicles/trailers go in for service/MOT when due/booked in
Essentials
Key Skills and Experience
· Able to resolve issues to a good standard or know when to refer to a manager
· Able to focus on key priorities and deliver on time
· Previous experience involving transport/warehouse operations
· Confident communicator, accurate, discrete, approachable and flexible
· Able to multi task and maintain accuracy whilst working under pressure to meet tight deadlines in fast paced, changeable environment
· Strong team worker also able to work on own initiative when necessary
· Flexible and positive approach.
· Competent in using a PC and Microsoft Office or similar
· Self-motivated ie undertaking relevant training and making suggestions for continuous improvement in systems and processes
This is a backshift role working 40 hours Monday to Friday
