Maintenance Electrical Engineer

The role of the Maintenance Electrical Engineer role involves the general upkeep and safety inspection of electrical equipment including carrying out preventative maintenance.

The role includes performing electrical diagnostics as required, maintaining and updating electrical schematics, electromechanical fault diagnosis, updating and maintaining records in accordance with internal systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, BRC etc.), leading and facilitating energy reduction plans, participating in CIP in the various procedures within the department and other project work as required.

 

Essentials

The essential criteria for this role includes a recognised apprenticeship qualification (BTEC ONC Level 2 or above in Electrical) and served within a manufacturing environment, a minimum of 1 years’ experience post apprenticeship, a proven experience of preventative maintenance, an understanding of electrical control systems and an ability to fault find electrical issues, a working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, an ability to understand schematics and an ability to fault find process and mechanical issues.

Desirable criteria would include a proficiency in IT to include Outlook, Word and Excel, experience of a continuous improvement environment, a working knowledge of auxiliary systems such as compressors, chilled water etc. and a knowledge of Grade Change Management.

The role involves shift work as follows:

-Rotating 12 hrs day shift, week 1 – 48.4 hours – 0654hrs to 1900hrs – Tues, Wed, Sat & Sun, Week 2 – 36.3 hours

-Rotating 12 hrs night shift, week 1 – 48.4 hours – 1854hrs to 0700hrs – Tues, Wed, Sat & Sun, Week 2 – 36.3 hours
