Forklift Operator

Sure Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Warehouse operative with a valid Forklift Licence for a well known client in Musselburgh, East Lothian.

Successful candidate will operate out of the customers factory that is based between Newhailes and Drem, using a company vehicle to travel between the two locations when required.

Reporting directly to the Procurement team the role’s main activity is to provide an efficient and accurate warehouse function, servicing the production lines.

You will build strong relationships with both R&D, Production and Engineering teams whilst ensuring that all goods in and out processes are followed correctly and all warehousing tasks are carried out accurately whilst paying strict attention to detail.

Rate:

• £12.50 p/hour

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• 0830 start

Main Responsibilities:

• Receiving and locating all deliveries of all goods into Drem warehouse and Newhailes factory.
• Ensure excellent working relationships with external business partners critical to the customer are maintained.
• Check for damage with goods received and being moved and notify procurement and quality in a timely manner for advice.
• Ensure compliance of internal and external documentation and notify procurement team of discrepancies in accordance with SOPs
• Safely and with care, warehouse goods using relevant forklift and lifting equipment with strict adherence with Health and Safety requirements.
• Taking care of warehousing equipment being proactive with reporting issues to ensure equipment is always to standard and available to be used safely.
• Arrange timely transfer of goods between different sites being Newhailes factory and Drem warehouse.
• Using all inhouse stock systems and SOPs, ensure that all stock in Drem warehouse is located, accounted for and location sheets are kept up to date ensuring discrepancies are brought up in the Weekly operational meetings with Production and Procurement.
• Escalate warehousing issues to Procurement team as soon as they occur.
• Suggest improvements to SOPs and working practices to help drive excellence.
• Join the wider Production team with maintaining excellent quality standards
• Work with R&D and engineering teams

Candidates Must Have:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift certificate – In house tickets not accepted by customer.
• Previous experience within a warehouse environment.
• At least 1 years previous experience operating a forklift.
• Previous experience using Microsoft email and excel.
• Previous experience with using in house stock take systems.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Exceptional timekeeping and attendance.
